International Women’s Day at iGo Life
Why leadership stories still matter
International Women’s Day is often about visibility — but at iGo Life, it’s also about substance.
Leadership isn’t just about representation or titles. It’s about how decisions are made, how people are supported, and how a business shows up for its customers and its team.
At the heart of iGo Life are two women leading side by side: Sonia Blakesley and Malgorzata Glin. Different backgrounds, different strengths — but a shared belief that the best businesses are built through collaboration, trust, and long-term thinking.
Meet the women behind iGo Life
Sonia – General Manager
As General Manager, Sonia oversees operational alignment across the entire iGo Life business devisions, sitting at the centre of people, technology, performance, and delivery. Her role spans strategic oversight and hands-on execution, ensuring the business runs smoothly day to day while remaining aligned with long-term goals.
Sonia manages all business technology and software, acting as in-house tech support while leading marketing activity, analytics, and internal systems. She supports the directors and guides the direct sales team, ensuring clarity, consistency, and momentum across the business.
Sonia also oversees ordering and operational coordination across divisions, leads ESG and compliance and ensures operational performance remains consistent across all areas of the business.
Sonia’s leadership style is highly practical and connective. Originally from the Black Country and proudly true to her roots, she brings a down-to-earth, approachable leadership style shaped by a background in hospitality and education — focused on clarity, accountability, and enabling others to do their best work.
Mal – Operations Lead
Mal leads order implementation across iGo Fulfilment, ensuring that every device delivered meets iGo Life’s quality, performance, and sustainability standards. She is hands-on in the process — acting as lead tester, carrying out quality spot checks, and overseeing how orders move from preparation through to completion.
In addition to fulfilment operations, Mal manages market channels and plays a key role in maintaining consistency, reliability, and trust across customer-facing platforms.
Mal supervises her fulfilment team, supporting both day-to-day execution and skills development on the warehouse floor.
Her leadership style is energetic and engaged, grounded in accountability while bringing passion, drive, and approachability to the team. She sets high standards, encourages open communication, and stays closely connected to the work itself.
Originally from Poland and now based in the UK, Mal brings a strong work ethic and an international perspective to the business — something that continues to shape how iGo Life approaches quality, responsibility, and growth.
Different strengths, shared values
Leading together doesn’t mean leading in the same way.
One of the strengths of iGo Life’s leadership team is that Sonia and Mal approach challenges from different perspectives — balancing strategic oversight with hands-on operational delivery.
What unites them is a shared set of values:
- Making decisions with integrity
- Building a business that people are proud to work for
- Putting customers at the centre of every outcome
- Thinking beyond short-term wins
This balance — between pace and precision, strategy and execution — creates a leadership dynamic where ideas are challenged constructively and decisions are made with confidence.
What leadership looks like in practice
Leadership at iGo Life isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about asking the right questions, listening carefully, and taking responsibility for outcomes.
For Sonia and Mal, that means:
- Being visible and accessible to their teams
- Making space for different viewpoints
- Holding high standards without losing empathy
- Learning quickly when things don’t go as planned
Leadership is ongoing work — built through consistency, reflection, and adaptability.
Why this matters for our customers
The way a business is led shapes every customer experience — from the quality of service to the reliability of delivery and the values reflected in every interaction.
By leading collaboratively, Sonia and Mal help ensure that iGo Life:
- Takes a long-term, sustainable view
- Delivers consistently across teams and services
- Builds trusted partnerships, not just transactions
This approach supports iGo Life’s mission to help organisations manage technology more responsibly — with solutions that make sense commercially, operationally, and environmentally.
Leadership, in our own words
Sonia:
“For me, leadership is about connection and clarity. People need to know where the goalposts are and what success looks like — when people feel supported, heard, and clear on what they’re working towards, everything else follows. I want iGo to be a place that feels supportive and genuinely happy — because when people enjoy coming to work, they pass that on to our customers and everyone benefits”Mal:
“I care deeply about doing things properly — delivering quality, keeping standards high, and enjoying the work we do along the way. Leadership doesn’t have to be rigid. You can be passionate, direct and still build a strong, supportive team.”
Looking ahead
International Women’s Day is a moment to reflect, but it’s also a reminder that meaningful leadership is built every day — through decisions, conversations, and the culture we create.
At iGo Life, leadership isn’t about a single voice or a single way of leading. It’s about working together, challenging each other respectfully, and building something that lasts.
As the business continues to grow, Sonia and Mal remain committed to leading with purpose — for their team, their customers, and the future they’re helping to shape.
